Hello, and thank you for considering me on your English-learning journey! I teach adults who are of intermediate-advanced level. I do not teach beginners, sorry about that! (It's just because I haven't had the right training for that). My teaching style is relaxed, patient, and engaging. I make lessons comfortable and interesting for students, but I will also correct your mistakes and challenge you. I respect each student's learning style and can adapt to suit different goals and interests. I believe in a natural, simple approach to improving English ability. For example, if you are worried about an upcoming conversation with your new boss, I will take the role of your boss and we will practice that conversation until you feel confident with it. My classes are usually conversation-based. I don't give lecture classes, and I don't have a curriculum or syllabus, but I always end up talking about grammar, idioms, vocabulary, and pronunciation in the process of having a conversation with students. If you have something specific you need to prepare for, such as an upcoming interview or presentation, I can definitely help you with that! I am also happy to answer any questions you have about material you are learning in other English classes or by yourself, and help with document editing/proofreading. I have a lot of travel experience, especially in Asia, Europe, and Mexico, which has made me comfortable relating to all kinds of people. I enjoy getting to know my students' personalities and cultures, and inspiring them to reach for their dreams! A little about me and my interests: I love reading, writing, philosophy, animals, and music (I play violin). I'm currently living a nomadic life, traveling to a different country every 3 months. All the best! -Sylvie
Hello, my future student! I am Edward, a CELTA-qualified English tutor from England with 1000+ hours of online and classroom teaching experience. I also offer reduced rates for students looking to take 45-minute or 30-minute classes. My present students come from all backgrounds, countries, age ranges and levels of competency in English; whether business professionals looking to improve their international communication skills or school pupils trying to get to the top of their class, I have helped hundreds of students make the breakthroughs they have been searching for. Just read my reviews! From advanced level students perfecting their grammar and expanding their vocabulary to near-beginners wanting to raise their confidence levels and improve their conversational skills, I have helped them all on their journey through the English language. My knowledge of languages, linguistics and philology is extensive, but I am keen on keeping things accessible, relevant and fun when I teach. I am a trained multi-linguist, speaking both French and Spanish, with a BA degree (2:1) in Hispanic Studies at the University of Nottingham and a CELTA qualification from the University of Sheffield's acclaimed ELTC.
Hi there! I am a native English speaker from South Africa with a Bachelor of Education (English Major). For the past 25 years, I have been teaching ESL offline and online in Asia (Thailand, China, Vietnam, Korea, Hong Kong and Brunei). I have taught all levels of students form Kindergarten up to adults (post-graduate level). My teaching style can be best described as flexible, warm, student-centered and friendly. I also believe that language learning is best done through an environment of immersion where the teacher and student engage in much more than textbook lessons. I use lots of examples from real life situations to teach language effectively.
Hey, I'm Becky! Currently I live in the UK. Before that I lived in Colombia, Vietnam, Thailand and Australia! I have been teaching online and in the classroom for over 3 years now, how time flies. I love teaching, I love talking to people and I find the details of language and culture fascinating. I have taught in many different situations, from big classes of 40 7 year old pupils in Thailand, to 1 on 1 online classes with people from Russia, Serbia, Spain, Venezuela, Iran, Italy...online teaching in endlessly fun. I like to get to know new students through conversation practice, focusing on topics such as family, jobs, hobbies, travel, politics, or anything the student wishes to discuss. Then after our first meeting, together we can build a more focused programme to suit your needs and desires as a student. Or, we can simply practice conversation together, which is always fun. I also offere my students specific tutoring for test preparation and revision for exams. I help my students to improve their knowledge and understanding of English grammar and most importantly, my students should feel more confident using English in everyday situations. I can help my students to improve their skills in all areas. For example, with conversational english it is important to understand and be able to use - Phrasal verbs - Idioms - All basic tenses - 'Bad' english (lazy english used by native speakers) Good luck in finding a suitable teacher, don't be too shy to book a trial class, hopefully see you soon!
