Hello! My name is Jenna and I am from Marion, New York. I am a motivated individual, looking to teach non-English speakers my native language. I am an expert at giving an intensive course for upper intermediate students looking to reach the advanced level quickly and efficiently. Please click on the Virtual Retreat Course for more information, I guarantee that you will love the idea of reaching the Native Speaker level soon! In addition to the Virtual Retreat Course I offer a variety of other classes at a regular speed for the student who wants to take their time. It should be noted that any student who would like to work faster, that this is possible with any course. I have designed my classes in 2 ways: Intensive (2-4 weeks) guaranteeing that the student will improve 1 full level in this time or at a Regular Pace (2-3 months) also guaranteeing that the student will improve 1 full level in this time. One full level means: beginner to intermediate or intermediate to advanced, more specifically: A1 to A2, A2 to B1, B1 to B2, B2 to C1, C1 to C2, according to the global scale of measurement for language acquisition. Please read below for more course information: General Classes will focus on all of the major areas of language learning: reading, writing, listening, and speaking with a focus on grammar and vocabulary acquisition. General classes are available for all levels: beginner, intermediate, and advanced students. These classes are highly recommended for the beginner and intermediate level students. Conversation classes will focus on improving speaking and listening skills, while focusing on correct pronunciation and fluency when speaking. Also, useful phrasal verbs and common idioms/expressions will be taught with the goal of acquiring that native speaker sound. Past students have shared that these classes are fun, thought-provoking, and that they feel ready for any real-life situation that may come their way. These classes are highly recommended for intermediate and advanced level students. Interview Preparation classes will focus on what to do and say in the interview setting and how to present oneself well. Cultural tips for interview success will be provided as well as how to present one's ideas and goals clearly to the interviewee. If needed, resume writing and cover letter help will be provided. It is important to note that I have past experience translating resumes from Spanish to English and editing resumes, cover letters, and presentations with great success. Each of my students who have taken this type of class with me have obtained the job they were always hoping for! Teacher Preparation classes are designed for non-native English teachers looking to improve their skills for their students in whatever country they are working in. I have had great success helping my fellow colleagues with understanding common expressions and idioms and complex grammar structures. These teachers then go on to impart this knowledge to their students feeling confident in their abilities. Test preparation classes will focus on the specific skills of the test: for instance I have experience teaching test preparation for the TOEFL, SAT, and ACT exams. Students walk away from these classes feeling confident, prepared, and ready for the exam. I have 10 years of teaching experience with students of all levels and ages, from children to adults, from beginners to advanced. I enjoy using the Democratic, Cambridge, and 100% English Methods, all of which utilize real life scenarios, so that my students will have success in their daily lives. I have taught in the United States school system, home school and privately (internationally and nationally) and online classes. As a bilingual person in Spanish and English, I understand the goals of the student at all levels. I too have passed through the beginner, intermediate, and advanced stages and at each level the principal goal has been to speak! Speaking is the most important goal in learning any language because without speaking then what is the purpose of learning the language? Language is designed as our principal way of communication. Therefore, I encourage you to book a free trial lesson with me, knowing that I've been in your shoes and I look forward to taking this journey with you. I hope to meet you soon!

Hello! I love talking to people and facilitating their learning. I have a post-graduate teaching qualification (PGCE) from the UK and TEFL certificate, with a wide experience in education, and I have given courses to people aged 3-63 for several years. I have also recently completed a Teaching IELTS and a Business English TEFL course. I aim to create a relaxed and enjoyable teaching environment, whilst being thorough and working with each student's needs, and I am easy to talk to! So don't worry if you are nervous or don't feel confident - I can help you with that. Have you forgotten your English? Know how to read and write, but afraid to speak...? Would you like to practise your English more often? I can help you to improve your English! The sessions concentrate on the practical use of the language, conversation and pronunciation. They are mainly intended to be a relaxed and enjoyable method of learning and to get used to speaking, but can also be combined with grammar and can be adapted to suit all ages and levels (although I am not currently taking complete beginners, sorry). I can also offer intensive courses. I often work with students of intermediate-advanced levels to help perfect their spoken English. I have helped students prepare for IELTS, TOEFL and Cambridge speaking exams - a recent student of mine got 111/120 on the TOEFL exam! I have also assisted students with confidence, to achieve more natural rhythm and intonation, and even issues concerning being understood, communicating effectively, politeness and cultural differences in language!! **Dear current students! If you can't find the time you want, you can send me a message**

Your message to me: Hey Gary! What kind of lessons do you teach? What should I expect? Me: First, thanks for messaging me! I'm glad you asked. I have a personal trainer/coaching style approach and I teach 3 types of lessons: #1. I teach entirely conversational lessons about business, pop culture, current events, international relations, etc. #2. I teach lessons focused on materials that you choose for me to test you on. such as IELTS/TOEFL prep. #3. I also teach skills based lessons with the following lesson structure: ~Listening - You'll listen to audio about a news article and then you'll answer questions based on that audio. ~Vocabulary - Through a matching game you will identify and learn the definitions of vocabulary words based on how they are used in the news article and you will also identify and learn synonyms too. I also like using customized word lists that can help you generate easy to remember lists. ~Reading Out Loud/Pronunciation - You'll read the news article out loud and receive help with your pronunciation. I consider myself to be proficient in correcting pronunciation errors. For example, I have learned many students may have a problem pronouncing the word "world" and what sounds to make with words that end in "ed." ~Intuitive Grammar: Phrases, Verbs, Articles, and Prepositions - You'll connect phrases together so they make sense and identify the correct verbs, articles, and prepositions to complete sentences. This is an intuitive and fun way of learning difficult grammar patterns! ~Writing - You'll write (type) sentences about the vocabulary words we learned to ensure you understand them and also so that I can check your writing skills. ~Grammar - You will learn important grammar concepts and practice them through fun quizzes. Sometimes I use a timer with these quizzes to make it more interesting. I hope that explains everything, but if you want to know more please message me. Kind Regards, Gary, Your Experienced Verbling English Teacher https://www.linkedin.com/in/gary-moore-2b9507199/ A little bit about me: I'm thirty two years old and I'm a dual US-UK citizen. I have family in the U.S., England, Wales, and the Netherlands. I live near Disney World in Florida and I enjoy spending time with my family, my girlfriend, and her 7 year old daughter. I'm friendly and open minded to different lifestyles, cultures, and religions. So far, I have taught students of various professions from Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas. Most of my students speak Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Turkish, Russian, Hebrew, Mandarin Chinese, and Korean. I'm studying Mandarin now and I studied Spanish at college and German in high school. I've visited Taiwan and Spain and I lived in Germany when I was a child. I've studied the basics of some other language as well through personal study or lessons.

I am a native English speaker with 16 years experience teaching English as a foreign language. During my teaching career, I have taught hundreds of private students and currently have a number of students, aged from 3 years to adult, including teenagers preparing for examinations required for entry to university. In addition to this I have worked in several private academies where the students have been of all ages and many working towards cambridge exams PET, FCE and CAE. Whilst working at Isabell International School in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, I was solely responsible for every aspect with the English Department. During the summer months over the last six years, I have worked at several Summer Schools as part of the teaching team. I have been teaching English online for the last 6 months. I like to use a variety of resources including course books and online interactive materials. Some adults have required everyday conversation and these sessions, based on dialogue and role-play, have been tailor made to their individual needs. I have also taught several groups of Chinese students in Almunecar, Spain, and these classes were geared specifically to the restaurant business. I value highly the elicitation of answers rather than rote learning. I believe in the importance of making each lesson interesting, varied and fun, while ensuring that the basic language skills: speaking; listening; reading; writing, as well as: grammar; vocabulary; pronunciation are covered. I am an independent, hardworking and reflective person who enjoys a challenge. I use my initiative when teaching to enable me to be flexible and adaptable. I am friendly and approachable and this enables me to communicate effectively with both my peers and with students. I believe that humour is a great tool in the teaching and learning process. I take a great interest in people which allows me to be open and this encourages openness in return, allowing the teaching and learning process to be successful. In 2002, I carried out an intensive one month CELTA course, at Sussex Downs College, Eastbourne, and gained a distinction. In addition to this I hold a first class Bachelor of Science Degree. Having lived in Spain for 16 years, I am a competent Spanish speaker.

Hello, my name is Adam. I was born, grew up, and still live near Liverpool, in England. I am a native English speaker, and I do not have a particularly strong regional accent, which helps students. I actually taught English to speakers of other languages informally for several years before I considered doing it professionally. In about 2005, I started teaching academic English to two friends from Turkey, who spoke Turkish and Kurdish as their first languages. I discovered that this was extremely enjoyable, because I love languages, and enjoy learning about other cultures. I have since gained TESOL qualifications from Arizona State University, in TESOL foundational principles, theories of second language acquisition, plus lesson design and assessment. I am now paid for something I gain such pleasure from. This is a great privilege. I have worked as a private tutor to students living in the Toxteth area of Liverpool. Many of these students are recent migrants to the UK, and speak a wide variety of first languages, including Arabic, French, and diverse African languages. I currently teach English to refugees and asylum seekers in Liverpool, on a voluntary basis. It is my honour to help people feel welcome in England. I am open to teaching students however they like - and can provide intricate, detailed, formal lesson plans if that is what a student considers most appropriate to their needs. I am also very keen on having informal conversations - 'a chat' - with students, and providing English language guidance as that conversation progresses. I am very willing to help students learn to read or write better in English, or improve their English listening skills, or prepare for a specific real-life situation in an English-speaking country - for example, an interview, using transport, or shopping. Conversely, we can have an informal discussion, about a subject that the student finds interesting. That way, they can learn from me, and I can learn from them. We both emerge from the experience knowing more about English, but also about the world in which we live.
