I am a Greek teacher with MSc in Educational Psychology (excellently rated). Studying Psychology helped me to understand my student's needs and made me able to handle students with special needs. My lesson is individually based on each one's necessities and potentials. Additionally, I studied and know perfectly how to use Student-Centered Instructional Strategies. The last eight years I have been teaching the Greek language to children and adults from countries all over the world. I also have been accepted and I'm about to begin (on September) a second MSc in Technologies of Learning and Communication. It should be mentioned that I have written my first scientific article, about the pedagogical approach of Celestin Freinet, in order to be published on September. Now I am working on another one (always the central theme is education).
Γεια σας ! My name is Apostolaki Eva and I am a native Greek language tutor. I was born and raised in Greece, on the beautiful island of Crete, at Hania. Since 2013 I have been teaching Greek to children and adults both native and non-native. I work as a teacher in a private primary school, where in addition to my class with native students, I am a supervisor and teacher for the Greek department for foreign students. I find the relationship between student and teacher to be particularly important. Teaching is my love and that is why I spend most of my time there. In my free time I like to keep up-to-date, exercise and meet friends. Whereas, when I have some days off, I make sure to use it on a trip. If you want to learn Greek or if you already know and you just want to practice your oral skills and are looking for a knowledgeable, friendly and dedicated teacher ... don't hesitate to contact me. I'm here for you. Qualifications & Experience I have studied in the Department of Primary Education of the University of Ioannina. Then I got my Masters Degree in Teaching Greek as a Second / Foreign Language from the University of Nicosia and I also received training from UNICEF about teaching Greek to people with multicultural backgrounds. I have also received specialization in Special Education from the Kapodistrian University of Athens and I am a certified life coach from the University of the Aegean. Since I got my degree, I have been teaching private lessons to primary students and Greek language to both children and adults. Now, in addition to my classroom as a teacher in a private school in my city, I am a supervisor and teacher for delivering school lessons to students of all levels who learn Greek as a Second / Foreign Language. At the same time, I teach Greek online. I have worked with students from all levels of learning Greek and of all ages from 4 years old and up and this has given me a complete view of how to teach Greek. Teaching Approach Course design is based on the communicative approach of the language. This means that the aim of our courses is not only the knowledge of the Greek language system but mainly the ability to use it, according to any communicative situation. The active interactiveness of my students during the lesson is of primary importance for me to achieve this goal. Of course every student is unique. So the methods and strategies I apply to the courses are always in harmony with him / her. Well-organized lessons work on all four skills: Understanding and Producing Speech, Understanding and Producing Writing. I use modern, attractive, interesting material and always adapted to the level and needs of my students. Also, if you already speak some Greek and do not know what level you are in, there are tests that can help us figure it out. When you learn Greek you can make your dreams about Greece a reality. You can communicate comfortably for new opportunities at whatever level of life you desire...to communicate with a Greek spouse, to get a better insight to your own culture or profession, or to travel, cook, read, learn or have fun, learning Greek will never be something you will regret doing. You will be proud that you can speak Greek. What are you waiting for? I expect you to become companions in the magical journey of the Greek “the language of all languages.” You can follow me also in instagram: https://www.instagram.com/greek.language.lessons/?hl=el

I love Greek Language and throughout my studies and working experience, I gained a strong knowledge of the Greek grammar and syntax. The last four years I live in London, where I was given the chance to meet people from all over the world, to teach and learn from them. I constantly seek progress ,meaning that I study further through reading books/articles concerning didactics/methodology and learning difficulties and by attending professional meetings, educational conferences and workshops. I was always fascinated by the beauty and richness of the Greek language and culture and I have a passion for teaching. I find the idea of teaching Greek to non-native speakers very inspiring and fruitful for both the teacher and the student. Ι firmly believe in the anthropocentric and globalised perspective of knowledge, which broadens our horizons and inspire us to constantly aim higher and thus become better. Greek and Verbal planet gave me the unique chance to share my passion for the Greek language and civilization with numerous people from abroad. My aspiration is to pursue a career in sharing my knowledge and also encourage non-native speakers to cultivate the Greek spirit world-wide. I am looking forward to meeting with you and join our journey! My aim is to help each student become autonomous and be able to deal with different lingual circumstances in everyday life. This is achieved without pushing aside the teaching of grammar, but in a balanced combination with real, authentic communicational conditions and the required strategies of understanding and producing speech. This is also the main target of the educational process. The educational program I have designed in such a way, so as to develop all four language skills, reading comprehension, writing, listening and speaking. The resources that are used are supported by visual and listening material, through which everyday lingual phenomena are approached. At the same time, both written and oral language exercises give the ability to our students to practice and consolidate the taught material. The main aim is the teaching of vocabulary and the grammatical and syntactical phenomena of the Greek language according to each level. What is also very important is the familiarization of the student with everyday communicative circumstances and the adequate use of language in a variety of contexts. Finally, another important thing is the contact with the Greek way of thinking and Greek culture in general.
