I come from Spain but now live in England and I lived in Ireland for a few years. I have been teaching Spanish and English as a Foreign Language for more than 20 years in schools and language centres in Spain and in Ireland and also in private tuition, to big groups and in one-to-one classes.
I have a degree in English and a post-graduate diploma in Teaching English as a Foreign Language.
What I love about teaching foreign languages is that I get to meet students from all over the world and I learn so much from them. Also, when you teach a language you can talk about any topic in class - from music to films, books, history, sport... because that is what languages are for, communication. That is why my approach is always communicative; grammar and vocabulary are necessary because they are the pillars of a language, but learnt in a fun way and using the four skills - listening, reading, writing, and speaking.
What my students like about my classes is that I make them fun (even the grammar!) and I create a laid-back atmosphere that makes them feel comfortable and confident using the language.
