Hi. My name is Martin. I'm British and come from the south of England. I'm currently based in Manchester, in the north of England. You might have heard the name 'Manchester' but you may not know much about it. Aside from 'Manchester United' (We don't need to mention that other football club... ;)) the city is an historical hub of innovation, science and progress. The old Victorian saying, "What Manchester thinks today, the world does tomorrow." still applies today to some extent. I hope our classes can reflect that spirit. I aim to push your English beyond the boundaries of what you think is possible. I have lived and worked abroad: Firstly, as a property salesman in Germany and then later as an English teacher at a secondary school in Austria. I have also spent quite a long time in Japan in addition to having visited many more countries including: the USA, Hungary, Slovenia, Spain, France, Belgium, Egypt, Belarus, The Czech Republic, Malta and the Republic of Ireland. I think my favourite place in the world to relax has to be the stunning islands of Okinawa prefecture in Japan, but my favourite city to have fun in, and for intellectual stimulation, has to be London. I am yet to find a really credible alternative to either the beaches of Okinawa or the streets of London, but I am open-minded enough to allow you to convince me otherwise. I have been teaching English online for more than 6 years to many students from all walks of life and from all over the world. Some have wanted to improve their General English and conversation, some have needed to pass an exam such as IELTS and some have required pronunciation training and/or to brush up on their Business English. Whatever your needs, I would love to help you with your English. I am a graduate of the University of Manchester, where I studied Modern Languages and Business Management (specialising in German as my main foreign language). I am fully certified to teach English as a foreign language and will qualify as a secondary school (high school) teacher next year, allowing me to work as a teacher in the British school system both in the UK and in international schools abroad. I look forward to meeting you very soon!
