Hi Everyone! My name is YUKIKO. I am from Kanagawa-ken of Japan and live in Hawai'i.
FIRST OF ALL, I'd like to say, thank you for reading my profile and I hope all of you are OK during this COVID pandemic.
PLEASE STAY SAFE.
Let me tell you a little about myself.
I have a certificate of (420 hours mandated) Advanced Skills for Japanese Teaching ;)
From age 12-16 I lived in Australia. Because of this experience, I started to have great interest in different culture and getting to know people from various countries at young age.
When I was in college, I helped exchange students from Thailand with learning Japanese for about a few months. I had another occasion to attend a group consisting of about 20 people from Germany appointed by a non-profit intercultural exchange organization to visit various cultural businesses in 4 cities in Japan as an interpreter.
From then on, I have taught Japanese to people in/from various countries like England, US, Philippines etc.
I also know how hard it is to learn a different language because I learned it hard way in Australia. Japanese is a very unique language and maybe tough to understand as you go on, but I'M HERE TO HELP YOU!
Let's have a fun learning time!
Teaching style：I have Genki for new beginners and some other textbooks for intermediate learners if you like to study on textbooks.
If you have any materials or topics you wish to study on or talk about, we can certainly solve problems you have together.
Most of the time, I will use both textbooks and the materials that I customize for each student to make each lesson more active and fun.
If you are intermediate and above and like to focus on conversation, that is fine too.
I also give students homework which I make on my own. Materials can be articles picked from websites, books, magazines etc and sentences or conversation practice that I make, and quizzes. We'll review what you have learned at the next lesson.
Please feel free to contact me for TRIAL lesson or for any question!
My hobbies are Swimming, Power Walking, SUP(Stand-up Paddiline), Gym training, Netflix, Photograph(taking pictures), playing with/working on computer etc.
